Out of the garage and ready to fish.

Dad and I put the finishing touches on the boat this morning.  It is now in Cedarville and ready to hit the water.  We hope to spend some time tomorow sorting through tackle and getting reels on the poles.  Our first charter is May 9th.  Hopefully we will have some first trip photos in a little over a weeks time.

The Boat is out of Storage.

Last week we were able to take the boat out of storage.  This year is quite different then last.  Last year we had open water and no snow.  This year we still have snow and are still doing a bit of ice fishing.  We are hoping that things break up quickly and that we can be on the water by the first of May.

Visitor to Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, St. Ignace, Sault Ste Marie, Detour, Drummond Island, Hessel, and Cedarville can all enjoy a half day chater on the Sea Hawk

Detour is where our boat is located.  We move the boat there three years ago because of the shear number of fish.  If is well worth the drive to spend a half day on the water in this pristine village.  The area that we fish is also the water way for most Great Lakes freighters heading to or from the Soo locks.  Not only will you catch fish but you will be fishing on of the most beautiful areas on the Northern Great Lakes.

Learning More

At first I was a little unsure of how this will go.  The blog has been fun to put together and is becoming easier to operate every time I use it.  Three months until we hit the water.  I can't wait!!

Fishing Detour

The 2011 fishing season will once again start in Detour.  Our catch ratio per trip has increased from 7 three years ago to 15 fish per half day charter last year.  May should bring some great catches of silver fish with limits once again of Lake Trout.  We look forward to fishing with you.  Please take advantage of our early season special.  May - June 11th half day trips will run $400.00.
